The Adirondack Performing Arts Center (APAC) is a new professional performing arts venue coming to 103 Montcalm Street in Ticonderoga, New York. It is developed as a Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) project under the North Country Rural Development Coalition (NRDC), in partnership with the Knights of Columbus and the Ticonderoga Festival Guild. Housed in the historic Knights of Columbus building in the heart of downtown Ticonderoga, APAC is an adaptive reuse project that transforms a beloved local landmark into a year-round destination for arts, culture, and community connection. APAC will serve as the premier cultural destination for the North Country region, presenting a full season of professional folk, chamber music, jazz, dance, and theater while offering community workshops, youth education programs, school partnerships, and an artist-in-residence program for local, regional, and emerging artists. We are building something genuinely rooted in the people and landscape of this place, creating a place the Ticonderoga community couldn’t imagine living without.

The North Country has long been without a professional performing arts venue. Residents of Ticonderoga and surrounding communities must travel hours to access live professional performances; local youth have limited arts exposure in school and almost none beyond it. APAC was founded to change that. Our mission is to present extraordinary, meaning-driven performing arts to the Ticonderoga region, cultivating local and regional artists, championing emerging voices, and making world-class artistry accessible to all. APAC is part of a larger creative placemaking movement underway in Ticonderoga, alongside NRDC’s public art programs and the Walls Between Water public art initiative, which together are reimagining downtown spaces and reenergizing community life. Operating under NRDC’s established nonprofit infrastructure and in active partnership with arts organizations and school districts across Essex, Warren, and Washington counties, APAC is already building the regional relationships that will make it a true civic institution and a cultural beacon for the Adirondacks from day one.
